Empty Bowls 2012 is the 11th annual dinner of homemade soup and fresh bread, served in hand-made ceramic bowls, which guests take home as a reminder of hunger in the community. Proceeds generated from this event will go to the Hunger Task Force. Hundreds of students throughout the entire Greendale School District will use the skills they’ve learned in the classroom to lead and carryout every aspect of this service learning event that raises money to feed the hungry and educates students and adults about hunger issues. This project also teaches students that there are a wide variety of ways in which to serve the greater community and that each act of service makes a positive difference.
